The spokesperson of NSCDC in the state, Zaid Afolabi Babawale, said, “In its bid to rid Kwara State of criminal elements, the state’s Commandant, Makinde Iskil Ayinla, ordered a tactical operation that was carried out at some flashpoints across llorin metropolis and three suspects were arrested at Ago Market, Oja Oba area, in the act of smoking marijuana.

Speaking on the development, some clerics and indigenes in the state who noted that the action was long overdue, said the NSCDC should sustain the tempo to rid the metropolis of criminals.

One of the clerics said, “Ilorin used to be known for Islamic heritage and scholarship, but that is no longer the case. The present situation which has seen rise in cultism, drug abuse and prostitution among the youths is an embarrassment to parents and scholars here.”
