The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Ekiti State has paraded 12 persons in connection with various crimes.

The state’s Commandant, Agboola Adisa, said the suspects were apprehended for crimes ranging from armed robbery, illicit drug usage and peddling, house breaking, stealing, conspiracy to cyber-related crimes.

He said a suspect, Adesoji Victor (19), was arrested at a foiled robbery scene in the Oke Ila axis of Ado-Ekiti where three suspected persons armed with a locally made pistol attempted to rob a supermarket belonging to Mrs Adepoju Victoria.

He said, “The command’s counter terrorism unit mobilised to the scene of the attack which led to the arrest of the suspect while the others escaped.

“The operatives recovered one locally made pistol, a registered motorcycle and other weapons.”

He further said that others: Samuel Micheal (25),  Adebayo Lateef (29), Opeyemi Adelusi (24), Daramola Ariyo (26) and Wasiu Ariyo (29), were arrested in the Omisanjana axis of Ado-Ekiti “in possession of illicit drugs, suspected to be cannabis sativa in large quantities, phones and cybercrime materials. They have been terrorising that area with reports from landlords to the unit showing that they are of questionable character. Other suspected illicit drugs were also recovered from them.

“Ayodele Ayomide (20) and Oladapo Agbe were arrested in the Oke Ila area in Ado-Ekiti after they had successfully broken into a church and stole a heavy duty generator.

 “Osalusi Ayo (28) and one other at large were alleged to have stolen air conditioners in the Ajebandele area of Ado-Ekiti.”
