NSCDC intercepts car stolen from Kaduna in Kwara

The Kwara State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) has recovered a vehicle stolen during a test drive in Kaduna, Kaduna State, and handed it to its owner.

The vehicle, a Toyota Corolla, was intercepted when the suspect was trying to sell it in Ilorin.

Speaking on the incident, the NSCDC Commandant in Kwara State, Umar Mohammed, said, “The intended buyer became suspicious and alerted the command when the suspect, now at large, was asking for N800,000 against the N4.5m current market value.”

The owner of the car, Alfred Hassan, who came to Ilọrin from Kaduna State where he operates a car business, said he reported the case to the police after the incident occurred in October.

Hassan explained that, “The suspect came with the pretense that he wanted to buy the car, only to abscond with it during a test drive.”
