NSCDC intercepts Benin-bound petrol in Ogun

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Ogun State Command has confiscated 10,560 litres of petrol loaded in 88 sacks on Akere Waterways in Ipokia LGA being transported to Benin Republic.

The corps’ spokesman in the state, Dyke Ogbonnaya, who disclosed this to journalists on Tuesday, said the recovery was in part of efforts of the corps to rid the state of oil thieves.

Ogbonnaya said the stolen petrol was gotten from Isalu in Lagos State via the waterways, noting that it was always difficult to arrest the culprits on the waterways.
