The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), in Kwara State has deployed  over 1,000 personnel to arrest hoteliers that allow nude dancers to perform in their facilities.

The commandant, Mr Wasiu Adeyinka-Ayinla, made the disclosure during an interview with journalists in llorin.

He said that the corps’ intelligence officers were already at their duty posts to find out hotels indulging in the act.

“Our intelligence officers are currently in various hotels day and night to arrest hoteliers who engage in strip dancers,” Ayinla said.

The commandant also said that the corps was collaborating with other agencies to carry out the operation and warned hoteliers in the state against keeping guests with questionable character.

Adeyinka-Ayinla also re-affirmed the commitment of the corps to fighting pipeline vandalism and other crimes that could affect the socio-economic wellbeing of the people and tarnish the image of the state and the country at large.

It would be recalled that the Kwara State House of Assembly summoned proprietors of hotels in the state in August this year over allegations of nude dancers in hotels.

The complaint was lodged at the state house of assembly by some religious leaders.
