As the new academic session begins, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Kwara State has intensified efforts to ensure the safety of schools. To this end, the command has deployed an all-female squad to protect educational institutions in the state.
Speaking on the development on Tuesday, the command’s spokesman, Michael Ayoola, said the specialised unit was created in response to the persistent attacks on schools.

He said its task was ensuring the safety of educational environments and protecting against threats from unscrupulous individuals.
He said, “The squad comprises highly trained and dedicated officers who have undergone rigorous training in both armed and unarmed combat to effectively safeguard schools and campuses.
