The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Gombe State Command, has deployed 850 personnel across the state to ensure the safety and security of residents and visitors during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.
In a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer, SC Buhari Sa’ad, on behalf of the State Commandant, CC Gyama Gyawiya, the deployment was described as a proactive measure to maintain law and order, prevent crime, and protect lives and property before, during, and after the festive season.
The statement noted that the personnel would provide robust security coverage in all the 11 local government areas, with special focus on key locations such as places of worship, motor parks, recreational centers, and critical public and private infrastructure.
To strengthen operations, officers were drawn from specialized units, including the Operations Department, Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) Unit, Counter Terrorist Unit (CTU), Critical National Assets and Infrastructure (CNAI), Agro Rangers Unit, Mining Marshal Unit, and Intelligence Department.
Speaking on the initiative, Commandant Gyama Gyawiya assured the public of the NSCDC’s dedication to ensuring a safe and peaceful festive period.
