NSCDC commandant dies at 57

The Nasarawa State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Bashir Lawan-Kano has died. 

He was 57 years old.

A statement signed by the Command Public Relations Officer, Aso Okereke and made available to newsmen in Lafia said the late  Lawan-Kano died at 8.30am at the Dalhatu Specialist Hospital Tuesday after a brief illness. 

The diseased was a former senior lecturer with the Kano State Polytechnic, before he transferred his service to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps as a deputy commandant.

Lawan-Kano who was a graduate of Political Science from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, is survived by a wife and six children. The late commandant had served at the Abeokuta, Owerri and Ebonyi state commands of the NSCDC before he was redeployed to Nasarawa State in 2015.
