The men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Niger state have apprehended four suspected buyers of stolen mattresses meant for the victims of disasters.
The suspects, according to the new commandant of the NSCDC in the state, Commandant Haruna Zurmi, are; Suleiman Yusuf, 40; Saminu Yusuf, 38; Abdullahi Sarki, 59 and Sani Shehu, 48.

Zurmi explained that they were trailed and arrested in different locations in Minna by his men following a tip off.
One of the suspects, Suleiman Yusuf, who said he bought the mattresses from top government official before he sold them to three other suspects in Minna metropolis, said the seller’s number has not been going since his arrest.
Yusuf disclosed that the top seller now at large sold the 400 mattresses worth N2.4m to Suleiman before he disappeared for fear of being arrested by the operatives of NSCDC.
It was learnt that the mattresses were sold at N4, 500 to the buyers and the mattresses have been recovered while effort is in top gear to arrest the top government official who sold the mattresses to them.
