NPL shifts league matches for Yar’adua

The League governing body in a statement signed by its Executive Secretary Mallam A-Hassan Saleh Yakmut also enjoined all premier league clubs in the country to wear black arm-band during the Wednesday matches in for the deceased President Yar’adua.

“The NPL commiserate with the family and the entire country for the lost of our beloved president, in honour of the president, the NPL has shifted all matches slated for this weekend to Wednesday 12th May, 2010.

“The NPL further enjoins the clubs to put on black band and observe a minute silence before the commencement of week 31 matches”, the statement said.

Meanwhile, the a high performance workshop on sponsorship attraction and management in professional clubs and leagues has been slated for Tuesday next week at Lamonde Hotel, Abuja

The NPL said the Resource Person for the workshop will be the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Super Sport Football Club, South Africa

He has managed the club in the last four years during which the club has won the Premier Soccer League (PSL) consecutively for three years. He has also worked with the PSL, South Africa Football Association (SAFA) and now with FIFA.
