Rivers United are determined to secure all maximum points when they host league leaders, Akwa United in the MatchDay 33 of the Nigeria Professional Football League season at the Liberation Stadium, Port Harcourt.
Rivers Utd who are in the third position on 55 points are seeking to prevent the Uyo based club from recording a double over them and secure the maximum points according to the technical adviser, Stanley Eguma.
The Uyo based club who currently lead the NFPL table with 60 points is seeking to make it two wins out of two games over the hosts having secured a 3-0 victory in the first leg at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in February.
“It is a league match. We take it as it comes. Akwa United are doing very well in the league and we expect a tough game from and we are prepared for them. We will ensure that we get the maximum points and that is our ultimate which we will towards to,” he said.
Meanwhile, 16th placed Sunshine Stars will hope to remain in the league with a victory over Adamawa United who are bottom of the table with 20 points while former champions, Enyimba want to return to winning ways when they host Jigawa Golden Stars.
Heartland FC who have been winless in their last three games will host Enugu Rangers while Dakkada FC will be guests to Kano Pillars in Kaduna.
In Katsina, Lobi Stars will trade tackles with Katsina United while title hopefuls, Nasarawa United will want to bounce back from last week’s defeat and secure a victory over visiting MFM FC at the Lafia City Stadium.
Similarly, Plateau United will welcome IfeanyiUbah while Warri Wolves battle Kwara United. Wikki Tourists will want to hand Abia Warriors their 13th league loss.
