Kano Pillars leading striker, Nyima Nwagua said “I am very happy that I will return to the pitch after staying so long.

“I was no longer enjoying life without active football.

“I was only training to keep fit.

“I was pained seeing other leagues resume around the world while ours was still shut down.

“My brother, it’s a relief,” he said.

In the same vein, Wikki Tourist’s striker, Nafiu Kabuga also expressed his joy that he would be back in action soon.

“I can’t wait to hit the field to do what I love to do.

“I have been away from the game for long.

“Though I have been training, but it can’t be compared with playing competitively.

“I will have to work harder now as I may have added a little weight,” he said.

Warri Wolves midfielder, Daniel Agwaza said, though he is in Benue and would be going to Delta within the shortest time possible, he has been training with some other league stars.

“I have been training with players like David Tyavkase (Lobi Stars); Eneji Otekpa, Agbanyi Matthew (Adamawa United) and Tony Shimaga (Enugu Rangers) and I am very happy and prepared to return to action when the league starts,” he said.

It will be recalled that shortly after the 2019/2020 season was called off on March 18, the League Management Company said the 2020/2021 season will start from September/October 2020 and end May 2021 subject to the full reopening of the country and the approval of the health authorities.
