The National Population Commission (NPC) has apprehended a man in Wudil LGA of Kano State for defrauding individuals of N5,000 each in the name of the commission.
Spokesman of NPC in the state, Jamila Abdulkadir, said the suspect was arrested while disguising as their staff and collecting money from people for the purpose of finding job slots for them in the forthcoming housing and population census.
He said, “The commission has succeeded in arresting a man in Wudil LGA who was collecting N5,000 each from citizens in the name of getting their names approved for the census.
“Everyone collecting money in the name of helping others get approval in the temporary work for the census is not from us and we hereby dissociate ourselves from them.
