NPC assures staff of safety in banditry-infested areas

The National Population Commission (NPC) on Thursday said the security of its staff who would oversee census activities in areas prone to banditry would be guaranteed.

The Federal Commissioner in charge of Sokoto State, Chiso Abdullahi Dattijo, gave the assurance while flagging off the e-recruitment exercise for the 2023 Housing and Population Census in the state. Abdullahi said adequate arrangements had been made to ensure the safety of their staff during the exercise.

He said the security agencies, traditional rulers and local government authorities had assured them that they would not leave any stone unturned in ensuring the success of the exercise in all the 23 local government areas in the state.
