NPA lauds LADOL’s $600m investment in Nigeria

The Managing Director of Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA), Mallam Habib Abdullahi, yesterday extolled the management of the deep offshore logistics base, LADOL, for its investment of $600 million in the Nigerian maritime sector, while urging other indigenous entrepreneurs to emulate the company.
Abdullahi stated this shortly after inspecting LADOL’s facilities along the Badagry channel in Lagos. He assured the company of NPA’s support and collaboration in the areas of security, piloting and safe channels, among others.
He said, “I am very impressed and proud as a Nigerian that a Nigerian-owned company is doing well. As a landlord and technical regulator, NPA will continue to encourage all other companies in the maritime sector undertaking similar ventures.”
Earlier, the Managing Director of LADOL, Dr  Amy Jadesimi  told  Abdullahi and his entourage that the company was Nigeria’s first and only wholly-owned  indigenous Nigerian Deep Offshore Logistic Base.
She added that LADOL had been providing world-class solution in deep off-shore support for maritime and gas projects, agriculture and fabrication with a vision of providing new growth opportunities aimed at changing the economic landscape of the country.
She said the company’s contributions would come through the provision of 5,000 direct jobs and 50,000 indirect jobs for Nigerians, thereby helping Nigeria to join the G20 Group of Nations.
Jadesimi expressed appreciation to the NPA management for its support and cooperation, which she said gave LADOL the opportunity to be doing all it was doing now..
On the visit with the NPA boss were the General Manager, Marine and Operations, Mr Abdullahi Goje; General Manager, Capital Projects, Mr A.R.Mohammed and  General  Manager Physical Planning and Development, Mr Yusuf Ahmed.
