The Northern Women Caucus under the umbrella of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has warned their female counterparts across the country against vote-buying and election violence in the forthcoming 2023 general election.

The caucus made the call Saturday at the inauguration of its North-Central PVC Registration/Collection and Women Inclusion in Governance Advocacy in Lafia, Nasarawa State.

Addressing the women group in Lafia, the National Coordinator of the group, Mrs Zainab Ibrahim, said they were determined to tour the 13 local government areas of the state and other states in the North-central zone to encourage women to register for their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) being carried out by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Also speaking, the APC North Central Women Leader, Mrs Zahrah Audu, explained that it was imperative for women to actively participate in politics to create a gender balance in governance.

Earlier, the First Lady of Nasarawa State, Mrs Salifat Abdullahi-Sule, promised to support the women in every way possible to ensure they exercise their franchise during the 2023 elections.
