A cross section of women from the 19 northern states on Monday in Abuja protested against the Saturday’s killings of rice farmers by Boko Haram terrorists in Borno State.
The women, under the auspices of Northern Women Peace Forum, led by their National Coordinator, Hajiya Binta Kuraye, after a mini rally urged President Muhammadu Buhari and northern leaders to end the killings.

They also described the growing numbers of Internally Displaced Persons in the northeast as worrisome.
“The farmers who were killed Borno are human beings like us. Please, we are using this medium to beg our government to put more effort. We know that they are trying but this rising insecurity, insurgency and kidnapping must stop.”
