Northern groups raise alarm over plot to destabilize Zamfara

The Arewa Youth Consultative Forum (AYCF) and the Northern Emancipation Network (NEN) have raised an alarm over alleged plans to cause instability in the North using Zamfara as the epicentre.

The groups therefore called on the federal government to deal decisively with any troublemaker found in the region.

The groups also appealed to the Supreme Court justices to meticulously consider the facts before them when delivering verdicts.

The President General of AYCF, Yerima Shettima, in a statement, disclosed that they have credible information regarding the intention of some persons to finance protests across the northern region for personal gain.

“The organization is thus calling on the federal government, particularly the Department of Security Services, to monitor activities closely. We caution the people of Zamfara to remain vigilant and resist any attempt to incite them into untoward actions.”
