The Northern Women and Youth Empowerment Monitors (NWYEM) has commended the First Lady of Bauchi State, Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed, for her efforts in promoting girl-child and women education in the state.

Mrs. Gloria Danladi, the Chairperson of NWYEM, in a statement praised the First Lady’s efforts and described her as a “champion for gender equality and women’s empowerment”.

She urged other state governments and stakeholders to emulate the Bauchi State Government and support similar initiatives.

“Empowering women and girls in education and skill acquisition is crucial to achieving sustainable development in our communities, and we must support and encourage leaders like Hajiya Aisha Bala Mohammed who are committed to this cause,” Mrs. Danladi said.

She observed that Mrs Mohammed has dedicated herself to improving the education of girls and women in the state and addressing the issues faced by young girls and women in Bauchi who are denied access to education due to cultural and societal norms.

The initiative, Mrs Danladi noted, aims to increase access to education for girls by advocating for policies and programs that support their education as Aisha recognizes the importance of education in empowering women and improving their lives, and she believes that every girl should have the opportunity to go to school.

“Aisha’s legacy shall continue to inspire new generations of leaders who are committed to creating a better future for all Nigerians. Her story shall remind us that even in the face of adversity, one person can make a significant impact on their community and beyond.

“As we celebrate Aisha’s accomplishments, let us also remember that there is still much work to be done. Women and girls continue to face challenges in many parts of Nigeria, and it is up to all of us to ensure that they have access to the resources they need to succeed. Together, we can build a brighter future for all Nigerians,” Mrs Danladi said.

NWYEM also called on the private sector and Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to partner with the Bauchi State Government in sustaining these initiatives and ensuring their impact reaches every corner of the state.
