The Concerned Northern Citizens has urged the Northern State Governors’ Forum to lift the suspension placed on the disposal of property belonging to New Nigerian Newspapers Company Limited.
The convener of the group, Abdullahi Muhammad, made the call in a statement.

He said some of the successful bidders for the properties had since proceeded to initiate legal action against the New Nigeria Development Company Limited and the New Capital Properties Limited for the suspension of the bid exercise for the disposal of the property with others to follow suit if steps were not taken to redress the situation.
He said: “We want to draw the NSGF’s attention to the adverse implications of the suspension of the bid which include a hindrance to the determination of the NSGF to permanently resolve the issues that have crippled NNN for several years now, which may be misconstrued as insensitivity on the part of the NSGF”.
Muhammad urged the Northern States Governors’ Forum to direct the NNDC to do “the needful in saving the legacy of Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Late Sardauna of Sokoto.”
