The Northern State Governors Forum (NSGF) has congratulated the renowned Islamic cleric and spiritual leader of the Tijjaniyya sect, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, on his 100th birthday.
In a statement, the Chairman of the forum and Governor of Gombe State, Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, praised Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi as a significant figure in the Islamic world.
The statement highlighted Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi’s extensive knowledge of the Holy Quran, Hadith, Fiqh and his deep understanding of the spiritual aspects of Sufism, which set him apart as an exceptional spiritual guide.
The statement reads in part: “Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi’s teachings have enriched countless lives through his profound exegesis of the sacred Qur’an. Throughout his life, he has remained a pillar and moral compass in our society.”

Governor Yahaya also praised the Tijjaniyya leader for his unwavering dedication to promoting moral and spiritual values.
He noted that Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi had played a crucial role in shaping the character and faith of his followers and children, and in fostering unity, peace and religious tolerance.
The statement reads further: “Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi’s centenary is not just a celebration of his life, but a reaffirmation of the timeless values he embodies and the legacy built on the principles of integrity, humility and piety.”
