Noor Takaful policyholders get N15m surplus

Noor Takaful, a local Islamic insurance firm, on Thursday distributed over N15 million surplus to policyholders who did not make a claim in the year under review.

The general takaful surplus was the excess of the total contribution by certificate holders. Last year, over N12m was distributed to policyholders as surplus.

At the event in Lagos, it also launched its mobile app which helps policy holders and the general public to access its products and services.

The chairman, Ambassador Shuaibu Ahmed, urged more Nigerians to participate saying no insurance package offers that kind of benefit to policyholders who have not made a claim for the year.

“Surplus payment is a further proof that insurance can be done fairly and ethically”, he said.

Acting Managing Director of the company, Aminu Tukur, said 608 policyholders that are qualified for the surplus receive 13 percent of their money.
