Movie lovers across Nigeria should expect uninhibited fun this month as Nollywood churns out very interesting movies across various genres.

Whether at home, office or the cinema, the screen will be filled with locally-produced movies and drama series as well as other action-packed and entertaining films.

A visit to most cinemas in Lagos revealed that movie fans will have a variety to choose from especially among those released by Nollywood producers.

Some of the dramas series & movies to watch out for on television and cinema include:

MTV Shuga Naija Season 6: The trendy youth-focused drama series is produced by MTV Base in collaboration with Viacom Media, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and MTV Staying Alive Foundation.

It features popular Kannywood actress, Rahama Sadau and actor, Yakubu Mohammed, Ozzy Agu, alongside budding talents such as Timini Egbuson, Jemima Osunde, Abayomi Alvin, Uzoamaka Aniunoh, Helena Nelson, Adebukola Oladipupo, Amal Umar, Ruby Akubueze, Sharon Ezeamaka, Moses Akerele and Sharon Jatto.

It will be available on screens in homes and offices via DSTV/GoTV from March 6.

Falz Experience – The Movie: This is a music concert movie produced by the Bahdguys entertainment and Filmone Distribution. The movie stars Folarin Falana (aka. FalzTheBahdGuy), Frank Donga, Adunni Ade, Bisola Aiyeola among others.

It started showing in cinemas across the country on March 2.

Disguise: This is an action-packed thriller produced by Victor Okpala and directed by Desmond Elliot. It was released by Agatha Amata Productions and features top-notch Nollywood actors and actresses like IK Ogbonna, Nancy Isime, Desmond Elliot, Daniel K. Daniel, Toyin Abraham, Wale Ojo etc. Released from the stable of Inside Out Media, it started showing in cinemas on March 2.

Crushed: The 89-minute drama tells the story of a newly wedded bride who seems to have everything going well for her until she receives a scary gift. Her past keeps knocking on her door, determined to crush her. It features Seun Akindele, Sambasa Nzeribe, Lilian Esoro, and Matilda Obaseki etc and was released on March 2.

Strange Land: The movie is based on the true story of a young girl being trafficked to London for domestic servitude. It features Sam Obiago, Roseline Sanni-Ajose, Ngozi Thompson, William Kemeh, Toyin Moore, Larry King, Lucien Morgan, and MA Benson and was released on March 2.

Bound: The movie is a true story chronicling the life of a beautiful career woman and her battle with spiritual, emotional and physical forces. The cast include Rita Dominic, Eyinna Nwigwe, Joyce Kalu, Nicole Banner, Duke Emmanuel and Neye Balogun. This romantic thriller was produced by Lillian Afegbai and directed by Frank Rajah Arase. It will be released in the cinemas from March 16.

New Money: The movie tells the story of a young girl, who goes from being a shop girl to a billionaire, after her father leaves her his empire to run. The movie, which was produced by Filmone and Inkblot productions, is a comedy drama which will be available in cinemas from March 23. It stars Folarin Falana (Falz The BahdGuy), Dakore Akande, Osas Ighodaro Ajibade, Wale Ojo and Jemima Osunde, among others.

200 Million: This action-packed comedy tells the story of its main character Jacob Jesuobo a.k.a JJ, a 33 years old man from Edo state, who due to the pressures of the potent mixture of unemployment, shame and hunger, was forced into a life of fraud.

The 90-minute movie stars Odunlade Adekola, Mercy Aigbe, Alibaba, Woli Arole, Owen Gee, Daniel Lloyd and Basorge Tariah. It will be available in cinemas from March 30.

Gringo: This is a Hollywood movie featuring British-Nigerian actor and producer, David Oyelowo, alongside Hollywood casts such as Thandie Newton, Charliez Theron, Joel Edgerton, Amanda Seyfried, and Shalto Copley. The plot is about a mild-mannered American businessman who finds himself on-the-run after travelling to Mexico. He soon crosses the line from being a citizen to a criminal while tangling with shady colleagues, international mercenaries, drug lords and the DEA. It will be available in cinemas from March 9.
