The FCT Commissioner of Police (CP), Babaji Sunday, has said nobody was killed by cultists in Kuchibena community of the territory.
In a statement by the command’s spokesperson, DSP Adeh Josephine, CP Babaji, while reacting to reports in some sections of the media, including Daily Trust, said the community was safe as there were no killing fields in the community by any cult group.
He said, “Following the police preliminary investigation into a report making the rounds in some sections of the media that four persons were gruesomely murdered by suspected cultists in Kuchibena community of the FCT, the command has discovered that such incident never happened.”
DSP Josephine said the CP urged the media to always verify their source of information before going to press in order not to publish stories that might create tension.
