The National Orientation Agency (NOA) and the Tor Tiv, Prof James Ayatse, have agreed to partner for adequate sensitisation of citizens of Benue State to be involved in the 2023 census and vaccination against infectious diseases.
Also, NOA appealed to the royal father to caution youths in his domain against violence ahead of the 2023 general elections.
The state’s Director of NOA, Joseph Ijir, made the appeal to Prof Ayatse at the weekend when he led a delegation to pay him a visit at his palace in Gboko LGA.

He said the monarch’s intervention could not be overemphasised in letting the people see reason to key into government policies and programmes that would benefit them such as the Social Investment Programme (SIP), vaccination against infectious diseases, participating in the forthcoming population census and the need for the people to abstain from rats; a special delicacy among the Tiv, as the rodents were a major carrier of Lassa fever.
Responding, Prof Ayatse said that the Tiv Traditional Council under his leadership had always been proactive, ensuring that the kingdom was put under check, especially activities of youths, with the help of over 4,000 chiefs and tax collectors under his authority who knew every youth and their families in every community.
