No rift between us and gov Abubakar- Bauchi lawmaker

A member of Bauchi State House Assembly, Abdullahi Shehu Mohammed, has dispelled the rumour of an alleged misunderstanding between members of the Assembly and Governor Mohammed Abubakar.
The member, representing Bauchi constituency, described the rumour as unfounded in Bauchi, yesterday, adding: “I received several phones calls over the allegations and I read in a newspaper that the governor came begging members of the House over his planned impeachment, that he gave us the sum of N465m through his deputy to appease us to stop the process of impeachment. These are all lies.
“I want to tell you that there is no misunderstanding between the governor and the House. All you‘ve been hearing are mere rumours cooked to tarnish the good name of the honourable House and the good relationship between the governor and the legislature.
“As I am talking to you now, the House has been on recess since the 27th of August and majority of the members have gone for pilgrimage to Saudi Arabia, only two members remained behind in the state-me and one other member.”
