Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje has said there will be no reconciliation between his political pressure group, Gandujiyya and Kwankwasiyya, a political group owned by Senator
The governor in an audio clip that went viral on social media, said, “Members of Kwankwasiyya have been going round with rumors that if we did not reconcile with them, we will not win election in Kano. This kind of rumor is always confusing me. This is just a mere tale, this is a joke and it also lie.
“I want state categorically that there will be no reconciliation between Gandujiyya and Kwankwasiyya forever. How can we reconcile with these people? In fact, on what bases are we going to reconcile?
“These people are Abuja based members of APC. In fact, they are not members of APC because Kwankwasiyya is not a political party. So, if we reconcile with them what can we do with the red caps. Are you expecting me to direct you to wear red caps again though I am also about to remove my own?
The governor made the statement while addressing his supporters at a political gathering recently.
Ganduje alleged that members of Kwankwasiyya group have vowed to stop the forthcoming Kano local government election at all cost.
He noted that they had already dragged Kano state government and Kano State Independent Electoral Commission (KANSIEC) to court in their quest to stop the election.
He said, “They have dragged Kano state government and KANSIEC before an Abuja court to stop the poll. They are not mindful of the preparations we made, the ample time we gave to political parties and the money we spent for the conduct of the poll.”
Ganduje regretted that, “I have never seen this kind of hatred. I have never seen this kind of sabotage? Nevertheless, we have hired seven lawyers and they are working with the state’s attorney general to defeat them in the court.
