No plans to demolish Gwarzo Bridge – Commissioner

The Kano State government says it has no plans to demolish a bridge in Gwarzo town, headquarters of Gwarzo LGA.

The bridge was reported to have been constructed by the Deputy President of the Senate, Barau Jibrin.

The state Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Malam Halilu Dantiye, confirmed this to newsmen on Wednesday in Kano.

He said some people had approached the state government seeking the reconstruction of the collapsed bridge.

He said government had already mobilised its team of engineers who surveyed the affected bridge, adding that all necessary engineering jobs for the bridge are ongoing.

Dantiye said government is also waiting for the submission of reports for the construction of the bridge in a professional way. (NAN)
