No one erred in donating forms to Buhari – Pwajok

The member representing Jos South/Jos East Federal constituency of Plateau State in the House of Representatives and aspirant for Plateau North Senatorial Zone, Edward Gyang Pwajok (SAN), has said that purchasing the APC presidential form for President Muhammad Buhari by a youth group to enable him contest the 2019 election is not illegal.

Pwajok who disclosed this while briefing journalists in Jos, at the weekend, said President Buhari was still a presidential aspirant of the APC and until he was presented to INEC as candidate of the party, he could not be questioned for accepting a nomination form purchased and presented to him by a group.

Pwajok said the Electoral Act stipulated that it was only when an aspirant became a candidate of a political party that expenses on his election could be regulated to a certain limit.

“There is nothing in our Electoral Act that makes donations of money beyond any limits illegal to an aspirant. Section 91 of the Electoral Act referred to by some individuals refers to limitation on election expenses by political parties and candidates for a party,” he said.
