The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed any leadership change in Cross Rivers State chapter of the party led by Sir John Ochalla.

The APC, in a statement  issued on wednesday in Abuja by its National Publicity Secretary, Malam Bolaji Abdullahi, condemned the recent violence in the state party secretariat.

The party, which appealed to all members to be calm, law-abiding and loyal to the Sir John Ochalla-led State Executive Committee, said that it was poised to resolving all contending issues in Cross Rivers State chapter.

The party said that all perpetrators of illegality and acts of gross indiscipline causing undue disaffection amongst its faithful shall be investigated and prosecuted in line with the constitution.

The statement pointed out that the party had laid down procedures of resolving any internal dispute.

Part of the statement read, “Our attention has been drawn to recent developments in the All Progressives Congress, Cross Rivers State chapter. For the avoidance of doubts, please be guided as follows:

“That the State executive of our chapter in Cross Rivers State led by Sir John Ochalla is the duly recognized executive of the State.

“That we condemn in totality the activities of Friday 2nd – 6th February 2018, in which some party members allegedly broke in, vandalized, occupied the State Secretariat and allegedly claim that there is a change in leadership of the State Executive Committee.”
