The Nigerian Union of Teachers (NUT) has applauded Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra State over prompt payment of salaries of teachers in the state. The union urged other state governors to emulate the Anambra success story in order to save the nation’s education system and guarantee a brighter future for every Nigerian child.

The chairman, NUT, Anambra State wing, Comrade Ifeanyi Ofodile, made the remarks at a press briefing in Awka, on the heels of the recent nationwide protests declared by the union to demand for the removal of payment of primary school teachers from local government councils.
