‘No campaign DG appointed yet’—presidency

 The presidential spokesman Femi Adesina has denied a media report that Buhari had appointed Transportation Minister Rotimi Amaechi as director general for reelection campaign.

Adesina said the president could not have appointed a campaign election director general when he had not become a flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress.

"Well, me I believe that things like DG will come when you have become a candidate. If the president steps into the fray now, he’s an aspirant just like any other aspirant. Having a DG comes when you become a candidate of the party," he stated.
