A former acting governor of Kogi State and North Central coordinator of the Atiku Presidential Contact Committee for North, Chief Clarence Olafemi has said that PDP’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, cannot be hijacked by any cabal to work against the overall interests of Nigerians.

Speaking on Monday in Lokoja, Olafemi described Atiku as an independent man who would ensure he works for the people, saying his emergence as PDP’s presidential flag bearer has rekindled the hope of millions of Nigerians, whom he said were already fed up with the APC-led government and now waiting to send it packing come next year’s election.

He said the state of the nation’s economy, security and infrastructural development under the Buhari-led administration has been appalling and therefore need somebody like Atiku to put the country on the path of sustainable growth and development.

“We don’t need anybody to tell us before we know that Buhari needs to be changed. We want to change for the better because so many things have gone wrong”, he said.

According to him, Atiku remains the best candidate who has all it takes to unseat President Muhammadu Buhari come 2019.

Olafemi advised Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and the national leadership of the PDP to ensure they put a formidable and all encompassing presidential campaign team in place as that would be key to the success of the party in the 2019 presidential election.
