The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) has screened 60 governorship aspirants at its national headquarters Abuja, with some of the aspirants expressing assurance of victory at the 2023 polls.
They said they would win their respective states because Nigerians are tired of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
One of the aspirants screened was Alhaji Abubakar Kabir Yusuf, aka Abba Gida Gida, who will be contesting the Kano governorship seat if he wins the primary.
Abba Gida Gida had contested the 2019 governorship of Kano on the platform of the PDP and nearly unseated the incumbent, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje.
Speaking to journalists, he said he was confident of winning this time around because the people are tired of the poor governance being served them by the APC and the PDP across the nation.
Ogun, Oyo and Abia aspirants, Dr. Jackie Kassim, Engr. Popoola Joshua and Ukpai Iro Ukpai respectively, who also spoke to the media echoed the same sentiments, stressing that the NNPP will be a force to reckon with in the 2023 general elections.
