Abuja,Kaduna and Katsina have benefited from the scheme in the past few weeks, according to an official of Capital Oil and Gas Limited.
Capital Ol has imported additional 100 mobile trucks to facilitate effective distribution of the product.
Mr. Nsikan Usoro, the company’s Head, Trading and Business Development disclosed this in a chat with newsmen in Lagos yesterday and reiterated Capital Oil/NNPC partnership to supply kerosene to the nooks and crannies of the country at affordable price.
He confirmed that 50 of the trucks have berth in Nigeria waiting for clearance at the port.
The KeroDirect scheme entails the direct sale of kerosene to consumers at the rate of N50 per litre via deployment of ultra modern mobile dispensing trucks
Under the arrangement, NNPC Retail provides the product while Capital Oil deploys the mobile dispensing trucks.
The scheme started last month in Lagos with 200 trucks provided by Capital Oil and Gas Limited.
Usoro,who said the scheme has crashed down price of kerosene in the country assured of its sustainability.
According to him,his company has sufficient kerosene which was allocated to it by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation.
Twenty million litres of the product was allocated to the company to cater for the need of Nigerians.
