A drama called Zik, which represents the life and times of Dr Nnamdi Azikiwe, Nigeria’s first president, is set to be performed in Lagos on April 9 and 10. The play is organized by the Duke of Shomolu Foundation.
In a statement released on Wednesday in Lagos, Mr Joseph Edgar, Chairman, Duke of Shomolu Foundation, predicted that more than one million people will watch the performance worldwide.
“The play will be staged in six shows in Lagos and will tour Awka, Enugu and Abuja,” the statement said.
The drama, according to Edgar, is “the biggest ever stage play in Africa,” and the Obi of Onitsha, Igwe Alfred Achebe, will attend the performance in Lagos.
