Former Secretary to Enugu State Government (SSG) and Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Enugu State Chapter, Chief Onyemuche Nnamani has said he did not know anything about the attack by unknown gun men in the early hours of Saturday at the residence of APC chairman in the state, Dr Ben Nwoye.
Also, the APC factional chairman in the state, Deacon Okey Ogbodo has asked Nwoye to count him out of his present predicament, insisting that he has no hand in whatever must have happened to him.
Nwoye in a briefing with journalists named Ogbodo as being behind the attack early Saturday.
But both Nnamani and Ogbodo who spoke in separate telephone chats with Daily Trust correspondent denied knowledge of the incident, and advised him to leave them out of his predicament.
Nnamani, who said he was in his farm at his Agbani hometown as at the time he spoke, said he has no problem with Nwoye as to warrant his baseless and unfounded allegation.
“I have no problem with Nwoye and he should leave me alone,” Nnamani pleaded.
Ogbodo, who expressed shock that such incident occurred, he said Nwoye should go and “search for his clothes on the spot where he took his bath”, and advised him to “please leave me out of this matter,” Ogbodo quickly added: “I don’t know why he should bring me into this now. Tell Nwoye to go search for his clothes where he took his bath.”
