The Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) has committed to championing gas utilisation just as it urges safe use of gas.
The Authority Chief Executive, NMDPRA, Farouk Ahmed, stated this on Tuesday at a stakeholders’ engagement on gas utilization in Lagos.
Ahmed, represented by the Executive Director, Distribution System, Storage and Retailing Infrastructure, Ogbugo Ukoha, sensitised the participants on the utilisation of gas designated as Nigeria’s transition fuel.
He said to promote gas usage and investment, the Federal Government has put in place various initiatives and policy frameworks including the National Gas Expansion Programme and the Decade of Gas Programme.
Delivering the keynote address on behalf of the Executive Director, Distribution, System, Storage and Retailing Infrastructure, Mr. Ogbugo Ukoha, the Coordinator South West of NMDPRA, Mr Ayo Cardoso, said the engagement sets the objective to enlighten them on the need to urgently obtain the requisite petroleum storage and take advantage of the evolving opportunities in the gas value chain for sustainable business growth.
