Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Barau I. Jibrin, has provided brand new jerseys, and football boots, among other kits to Barau Football Club, to boost the morale of the players ahead of Nationwide League One (NLO) season.

Senator Barau who is the financier of the amateur club based in Kano has been supporting football and other sporting activities in the state and beyond to promote peace, and unity and engage the youths.

According to the statement issued by Ismail Mudashir, the Special Adviser to the Deputy President of the Senate on Media and Publicity, kits were unveiled yesterday in Kano, by the Chief of Staff to the Deputy President of the Senate, Professor Muhammad Ibn Abdullahi.

In his remarks during the unveiling, the Chief of Staff described the jerseys as unique, smart and beautiful.

He reiterated the commitment of the Deputy President of the Senate to continue to support the team and the entire youth in Kano State and beyond.

Meanwhile, Ibrahim Shitu Chanji, the Chairman of the Barau FC, said the gesture was aimed at boosting the morale of the team for the new season.

He reiterated that the timely arrival of the kits would motivate the players to gain promotion at the end of the season.

“We are ready for the competition and we will make our founder and all our supporters proud,” he said.

Barau FC will debut in their new kits when they face Orlu United FC at Dutse Stadium, Jigawa State, on Saturday, April 20, 2024, in the 2023/2024 Nigeria Nationwide League Matchday one fixture.
