National Library of Nigeria has organised a reading campaign at the Government Technical Training School (GTTS) in Jalingo, Taraba State.
The campaign with the theme, ‘Working Together to Build a Virile Reading Nation: challenges and Strategies’ is part of efforts to promote reading habit among Nigerians by the National Library.
National Librarian, Prof. Lenrie Aina, represented by the Director, Planning, Research and Statistics, Mr. Henry Maginson, said the campaign was designed to cover all the 23 state branches and the FCT.
He said reading culture among Nigerians was very poor and that the benefits of good reading culture added quality to life, provided access to culture and cultural heritage, empowered and emancipated citizens, as well as brought citizens together.
