The National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) has increased its waterways safety personnel from 80 to 350.
The Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, stated this at a roundtable on waterways safety.
- Zero duty tax: A lifeline for Nigeria’s food security crisis
- Out-of-school girls in Abuja: Lost dream of education and the burden of survival
Oyetola emphasised the government’s commitment to ensuring safety through 24-hour surveillance at major jetties and loading points.
