Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Ogun State Command, has arrested 32 Chadian nationals and one Togolese after storming  their two hideouts in Odeda Local Government Area of the state.

The state controller of NIS,   Jibrin Yakubu, who paraded  the suspects in Abeokuta, said they were without valid travel documents and no means of livelihood .

Yakubu  said they were arrested on Wednesday after the officers of the service stormed their  two hideouts in Odeda local government  at 12:am.

He described them as security threats to the country, saying their means of entrance was illegal and their purpose of coming into the country was suspicious.

He said, “We got information from the people in  the town in Odeda  of the presence of the nationals who  cannot interact with people except with the French language .

“Luckily for us, by Wednesday,12:am, we struck at the two locations and we were able to apprehend 33 of them; we brought them to the headquarters here.

“We started profiling them and discovered that out of  33, 32 were Chadians while only one is a Togolese.

“We  tried  to find out why these people are here and also from the same country. They told us that they were invited by the Togolese for a networking business .

“They have to register and after registration, they will have to  pay some amount of money for that registration  and every week, their accounts will be funded.

“We tried to find out the type of products the Togolese is claiming, for which he recruited them and to be frank he cannot show us anything, that is why we decided to show the whole country and to tell the public to resist any attempt to be lured.”
