The Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Isah Jere Idris, has given automatic promotion to 60 junior personnel of the NIS in the Joint Task Force (JTF) fighting terrorists in Borno State.
He disclosed this when he paid an unscheduled visit to the camp of the JTF in Maiduguri during his two-day visit to Borno to commission the Personnel Training Resource Centre built by the International Organisation for Migration, in collaboration with the governments of Netherlands, Switzerland and Germany.

NIS spokesman, Tony Akuneme, in a statement yesterday, said the CG was impressed with the conduct of the personnel attached to the JTF and promised to do everything to keep their moral high.
He said the CG paid special tribute to the only female member of the 120-member team, Inspector Lilian Onuoha, even as he announced the automatic promotion for all the junior members of the team.
