The Comptroller General (CG) of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Caroline Adepoju, has warned applicants to ensure their National Identity Number (NIN) information tallies with their particulars on their international passport.
Mrs Adepoju who gave the advice during the commissioning of a new passport office in Offa, Kwara State, at the weekend, said, “What many people don’t understand about passport processing is that it is mandatory that all the NIN information on the National Identity Card conforms to that of the passport.
The immigration boss, who was represented by Saadatu Hassan, a deputy controller, said issuance of passports under the new immigration led by the present Minister of Interior, Dr Olubunmi Ojo, was in two weeks.
The NIS boss thanked the Olofa of Offa, Oba Muftau Badamasi Esuwoye II, for donating and furnishing the edifice.
Earlier, Oba Esuwoye II said that delay in passport collection and lots of complaints from his subjects prompted him to sponsor the establishment of the passport office.
