NILDS committed to fostering democratic governance – DG

The Director General of the National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), Prof Abubakar O. Sulaiman, has assured of the institution’s commitment to fostering democratic governance and legislative practices in the country. 

He spoke during the NILDS Democracy Radio Citizens Journalism Workshop for Nigerian students in Abuja.

Prof Sulaiman said the NILDS Democracy Radio provides a space for citizens to engage with lawmakers, access important legislative information, and contribute to the national conversation.

He explained that the workshop, was aimed at equipping the students with critical skills like online safety, fact-checking, methods of scientific verification, and the importance of originality and authenticity in their reporting.

“Over the past two years, the radio is evolving into a leading brand in promoting democratic values, offering insightful discussions, and keeping Nigerians informed about the workings of government and the legislative process,” he said.
