Professor Abubakar O. Sulaiman, Director General of National Institute for Legislative and Democratic Studies (NILDS), has expressed deep shock and sadness over the passing of distinguished scholar and educator, Professor Ayo Dunmoye.
Professor Dunmoye, whose remarkable career began at Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, where he served as a lecturer in the Department of Political Science and International Relations for an impressive 44 years, was a consultant with NILDS until his demise.
Sulaiman extended his heartfelt condolences to the family, friends, and the political science community, who have lost a respected scholar, mentor, and invaluable contributor to the field.
He described his passing as a significant loss to the academic community, noting that his legacy endures not only in the knowledge he shared but also in the many lives he influenced and the institutions he helped shape.
The DG offered prayers for his soul to rest in peace and for God to grant strength to the family he left behind.
