Nigeria’s High Commissioner to Malaysia, Dr Hajara Ibrahim Salim, has presented her Letter of Credence to the Head of State and King of the country, Yang di-Pertuan Agong XVI, His Majesty, Sultan Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah.
Salim, who was appointed High Commissioner to Malaysia and Brunei, had remained High Commissioner-designate since her arrival in May 2021, due to COVID-19 lockdown in the country.

During the presentation ceremony, at the Royal Palace, Dr Salim extended President Muhammadu Buhari’s warm felicitation and gratitude for the country’s hospitality and friendship.
She and the king later discussed issues of mutual benefit and restated commitment to strengthening bilateral relations between both nations.
Salim, accompanied by officials of the High Commission, marked her first official engagement as the first lady High Commissioner posted to Malaysia since its inception in 1991.
She is also expected to present her Letter of Credence to the Sultan of Brunei being her concurrent country of accreditation at a later date.
