Nigeria’s COVID-19 cases rise to 51

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control ( NCDC) has confirmed five new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the country .

This brings the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 51.

The centre in a tweet late Wednesday evening said two new cases were recorded in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) , two in Lagos state and one in Rivers state.

Rivers and Osun recorded their first confirmed cases on Wednesday.

The centre said three of the cases were returning travellers into Nigeria while two were close contacts of a confirmed case.

In all seven cases were recorded on wednesday.

So far Lagos has 32 cases, FCT- 10, Ogun- three and one case each has been recorded in Ekiti, Oyo, Edo, Bauchi, Osun and Rivers.
