Nigerians suffering from economic hardship- Sheik Jingir

National Chairman, Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa Ikammatis Sunnah (JIBWIS), Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir, has disclosed that Nigerians are suffering due to the current economic hardship in the country.

The Islamic cleric made the statement yesterday at the opening of the JIBWIS 27th annual National Qur’an competition, held at the multipurpose hall of the University of Jos.

He said, “Nigerians are suffering, most of them are in dire need of urgent government intervention in the areas of economy and health care, security among others.”

Sheikh Jingir, said politicians, particularly legislators should formulate a workable law that would ensure Nigerians enjoy a free or affordable health system in the country, adding that “It is necessary for the government to mitigate the sufferings of Nigerians, economically, and health-wise.”

In a goodwill message, Senator Ahmad Aliyu Wada, representing Nasarawa South, harped on the fear of Allah and the significance of education as a panacea to national unity and peaceful coexistence.

He said Muslims must live a life as thought by the Qur’an, which teaches love, patience, and peaceful coexistence amongst divergent beliefs, “We must live to promote Qur’an and Islamic teachings, we must exhibit the ideals of Islam; by our character, through peaceful coexistence amongst us, and even those that are not Muslims,” he admonished.
