The Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, says Nigerian youths are leaders of today and not of tomorrow.
He said they should be supported to assume their rightful position in national development.

He said this in Abuja yesterday at the maiden Nigerian Prize for Leadership, Ambassador Leadership Programme and Excellence in Leadership Lecture.
He said the youth should be supported with different opportunities to make them thrive to take leadership positions.
“Former Head of State, Gen. Yakubu Gowon; the Late Chief Bola Ige and the Late Premier Nnamdi Azikiwe, among others were role models with great leadership roles that youths should emulate,” Dare said.
Executive Secretary, Tertiary Education Trust Fund, Suleiman Bogoro, said: “The current leaders of Nigeria had the privileged to benefit free education with token allowances in their secondary school days to travel home during holidays. It’s the same we as leaders through our action that are denying most of the children of the less privileged access to education for too long.”
Chairman, Governing Board, ALP, Prof. Anya Anya, said the critical role the youth played in nation building underscored the essence of the programme.
